Re: Cubber's Build Thread

What are you running? 383 with headers...can't be that difficult to find someone with a similar setup. The part store guys can usually only help you if they can look it up in their computer. Find a practical application - like you said, tons of vehicles are out there. Someone will be able to point you in the right direction Matt. Keep Calm and Truck On!

It will be alright Matt, once we get this figured out and you're driving the truck you'll be laughing at this moment.

Thanks, guys. I just get worked up. It seems like every little hiccup that could happen has. Oh, look at me, *****in about my hobby truck that I've dumped thousands into, lol. I'm lucky to have this thing to ***** about, and have a shop to ***** in, I guess. You know what? I bet it's the coil.

Negative. Coils never go out.
The ole' family tomato plantation is super cool, but you could be the only shop logo Avocado Truck in the entire state of Tennessee. ~ Cue Balls 'Cado's ~ How long before you can grow a truckload?? Been craving some guacamole.

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

Was told by my engine guy that an Autolite 26 was the plug to use. That was the second one that didn't fit. NGK is supposed to make a v power plug that is really short. I know that the autolite is a heat range 6, and the NGK UR6 is, too. I need to find a UR6 and see if its shorter than the autolite.

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

I just read the last couple pages of your build here, but in the off chance my random interjection can help. I know Accel makes a plug that may solve you're problem. It's a "Shorty" plug, just for header clearance.

Great lookin truck ya got there!

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

Thanks everyone! I was just a little worse for wear last night. I just picked up some ngk race plugs that aree as short as the accels and in the right heat range. They came highly recommended by the nova and chevelle guys, who are used to dealing with clearance issues. I will have an update later.

THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT!

And just think, I could've gotten another project cheap and bought some plugs. And run it up and down Clardy Rd a few times every Saturday. LOL. j/k Matt I wouldn't do that to ya.

Hang in there. You'll find the right one and buy 16 of them.

Ok. PLUGS ARE IN, GAPPED, AND READY TO CRAP! lol it rhymed! I gotta get the driver side header bolted back on, but the exhaust has it in a bind, so I need to unbolt the collector to get header bolts started. I will do that soon. Had to call it a night, still figting the funk and didn't want to overdo it.

BTW,, plugs fit great. Not a ton of room on some, but not touching, either. I have boots on #5 and #6 for good measure, but I have seen them closer with no boot. I had em, so I threw em on!

I told my wife that I was gonna take tonight off because I'm still not 100%, but that truck sitting out there being this close just aggravates the living you know what outta me.

I Got a set of champion copper plus plugs from the auto store, i had difficultys putting them in, but there in, Autolites cores arent even copper looking, broke a few here and there, they sold us grafite plugs. pissed me off. they should be put in by hand then box end wrench, to clear the headers. ask for the shorter style, non high milege plugs . make sure you also look at some Accels header plugs. Very small plugs

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!!! i kills me also to see something, id go nuts but it looks like your holding up, patience is your virtue
