Re: My 1959 apache project
Thanks!!!
I am using a 60 gallon ir compressor with a 7 year old sata jet gun, im in no way a pro painter I took a painting class one semester at out local college in 1999 and the rest has just been trial and error. I love painting hate bodywork but I do it because id rather see my own flaws then pay to see someone elses. Thanks for all the positive comments on my build I really appreciate all the input. its been triple digit heat over here in northern ca so im taking a break until it cools off a bit. |
Re: My 1959 apache project
Thanks tpi. Thinking this might be a better option for us than sending it out and having it painted. What type of primer did you use?

I used 5 star xtreme high build primer (black) I love it because I can test it with water to see if theres any major flaws. |

I didn't see anywhere that you mentioned it, but what is the name of that color? That is a gorgeous color.

My goal is to raise the wood floor just enough to clear everything which is only 2" and still have that factory look. Should be all done by weekend then continue with bed bodywork so i can paint bed |

Re: My 1959 apache project
Added visors and armrests late to the order so this will be in later
Also not sure if i mentioned i will be removing the air bag suspension and will be going with hydraulics |
Re: My 1959 apache project
My goal is to get the back of the bed looking super clean and nice, the hydraulic pumps will be exposed and so will the batteries thats why i chose to go with side post optimas thats one battery you dont need to hide they can be pretty to look at with that being said

Re: My 1959 apache project
I wish the East Coast roads would allow hydraulics. I'd love to see more in action. I'm afraid you'd get your kidneys beat out driving around here. Hahaha!
Looks great BTW!!! |
Re: My 1959 apache project
Yes it is alot of bling its going to be hell cleaning it lol

Re: My 1959 apache project
Only have 20" from the front of wheel well to bed panel so if i made a rack that raises it 2" it will give me enough space to mount 2 batteries on each side and clear it.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...psn5ufkv2m.jpg Attached some angle iron so i can drill holes and secure it to the floor and the optina trays will bolt to them without any bolts exposed, should look like batteries Are free floating but will be very secured. |
