My 1959 apache project

Traded my 54 belair project for a 59 apache project id like to upgrade suspension engine and use it as a daily driver.

Pics of when i picked it up




Has a 250 straight 6 with a 3 on the tree right now

Thanks, cab has rust so do front fenders nothing some patch panels cant repair on fenders. Yeah color primer can change a vehicle ALOT, im going to the turlock swapmeet tomorrow hope to find some parts. Just picked up 4 "fleetside" emblems and a cleaner front hood emblems

What's up! We're recent instagram followers, lol.... Love your truck though. It's in way better shape than mine is. And that was a damn good score on the chrome parts at the swap meet!

Gotta yank this eye sore out clean up engine area and put together a small block for it while i save up to upgrade suspension. Picked up a v8 cross member today ill leave it 3 speed manual for now.

Just curious, what brand/kind of primer did you use? WAs it white and the paint shop tinted it for you or did you tint it yourself? If so, with what? I'd like to do mine in a sort of Sage or light Army green.

Ive done this for years, pops used to buy 67-72 trucks we would clean them up make them run tint the primer and sell them.


i use cheap grey lacquer primer add base coat or single stage paint
(no hardener) just add the color until you like it. then add the lacquer thinner and you have colored primer.

Thanks for the comments, ive been cleaning up the motor it had tons of grease build up on it. ill post pics when i get ready to spray it i will be painting it "harley orange" with couple coats of automotive clear they come out really nice
