Re: well, I'm excited!
sorry to string you guys along, but due to blizzard like conditions where the truck is at, bald tires, and only one wiper,we have decided to wait until saturday to pick it up.

Re: well, I'm excited!
Blizzard?
Its 80-90 degrees and sunny here with a slight breeze, blowin off the Gulf! :D |
Re: well, I'm excited!
winter just won't stop here! it snowed all night, the ground is too hot to let it stick, but when you get to the higher elevations it does...
I have been hoping for spring for a while now! |

Re: well, I'm excited!
Awesome score Jon
just the straight grill and good windshield makes it a rare find not to mention the 4x4 should be a 283,any chance of it being a 327?? Being a LWB definitely should be a fleetside T |

I managed to hit at least 45 mph on the way home, it was about 25 miles away from us...
It had sat for 7 years, but the guy still started it up every couple months, so by the end of the trip it was cruising along pretty smoothly. #1 order of business is to get a good set of tires on it, the ones that are on it are pretty scary. Cool finds: the factory jack under the seat! , the owners manual, and the buyer protection booklet.(it showed a guy from phillipsburg,mt had bought it from a chevy dealer in utah!) I am wondering about the radio(it does work), it is a 456 radio with 456 deluxe knobs, the dash does not appear to be cut or changed, however my other 63 has the earlier(smaller/taller) radio...? mid year production change? the book showed that it was sold in december of 63. I just realized that it has the deluxe instrument cluster... all the guages work, except the oil pressure. the water pump was leaking, but other than that it runs great, brakes, exhaust, clutch are all in good shape. the rear of the cab is pretty beat up. the cab corners are starting to go, as if the dents in them were'nt enough:lol: the rockers and footwells seem solid. you can see where they welded??! a gun rack to the back of the cab. so after the water pump and the tires are changed out we are going to start using it. dad already has a load of brush, and a load of gravel he needs hauled, so after a long break this truck is back to work! I stopped by walmart on the way home and found some spray paint that almost matches the blue, so we can get the doors te same color as the rest of the truck. |

I like this shot; someday I will have to line all the trucks up and get a picture... the new 63 is # 10!
