It's pretty damn stiff. I would aslo recommend C-notching the frame. I don't currently have them, thus it doesn't take much to bump the rubber stops. Doesn't bother me too much, since it doesn't see to many miles. I currently have a set of air shocks that I can squirt a little air in to help the cause. Eventually I will put the correct shocks, shock relocater, C-notch and adjustable panhard bar to make everything right.
Sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been out of town.... |
It's cool, just glad to have the info. I feel like I'm getting a nosebleed every time I get into my truck, it's so high off the ground. :) Gotta take it down a couple of inches. Not sure about what is easiest vs. worth the money.
I'd like to bag it out, but haven't seen a relatively easy-install bags kit for my truck yet. The routing of lines and the setup isn't hard, it's the placement and installation of the bags and checking for clearances that I'm worried about. |
Well if it's any conselation, I used to have "heated" springs myself. Though these newer springs are stiffer, i would never go back. However, I am currently trying to figure how I'm gonna better align my front end. I might have to shim out the mounting possition of my upper control arm using longer bolts, just not sure what the out come will be. I currently have an unanswered question on the suspension board for the this very thing.

You mentioned air bags.....
Actually, now that I think about it, you can actually replace your rear springs w/ air bags rather easily. Suicedoors.com has a really nice adaptor plate & cup for the front also. Of course you still need an air management system. The following link is in the FAQ board and shows a air bag installation.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=129463 Everyone seems to be extremely happy w/ *****************. Haven't heard a bad thing about 'em yet. If I end up keeping my truck, I might actually do the same thing. What ever decide, I hope everything works out good. |
I'll hafta check that out for sure and post pics of my install as well, if I ever get to it.
Thanks for the link! |
