Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
I wish I could find 1/4 of that stuff around here, if there is any in around in the junk yards they are pretty much history most of the frame and sheet metal is pure rust and been pretty well picked over.

Sounds good. My next day off is the anniversary for my wife and I. We can go then.......I don't think she would mind...do you? Seriously though, thats sounds like a plan, lets try to start coming up with something. As long as I have some notice I can almost take any day off I need with a few exceptions. JKR |

Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
That is a very nice yard! You could take a "chew" walk for days right?LOL He quoted me $600 for the '71 lwb 4x4, title included. Did you check under the hood of the GMC beside the old house?
|
Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
I definitely need to get up there.:D
|
Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
the gmc by the house is swb i-6, 2speed auto, ac, pb and its all there.(or was a few months ago) owner priced it to me last year $300. i've been pulling parts there for a while now. should be a couple more van tilts left. owner is sometimes proud of his parts, but they are his and you pay his prices.

Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
BTW Eric, speaking of Arkansas, you have a pm.

Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
Eric, can you pm me the info or give me a call? Did I mention that I am in Fayetteville right now? I had to pick up one of our show trucks in Kansas City this afternoon. If has an empty bed and a tow package, if need be. I will be home on Friday!

Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
Putter,Is that a dealer installed brush guard on the 69/70 in the 9th pic? I've been looking for one of those. When you go back see what kind of deal can be made.

Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
Nice pics, I walk around the one I "found" here when I go. Dreaming up things that I could do.

Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
That looks like a yard here by the house. (it isn't though). Its closed also. FULL of 67 to 72 trucks and lots of muscle cars. Last time I was able to get in, he was open from 8 to 12-1 to 5 closed on sat and sun. Told him it was hard for a working man to get in with those hours. Tough. Anyways whenever you decide to tell us where that yard you found is, I be waiting.

That's so typical of the Arkansas trucks too. Mine was exactly like that. The body was solid, and the running gear was worn out. You guys up North can drool now. (I'm from Boston, so I know what real rot looks like.) |
Re: Arkansas Parts Mecca
Putter's going to be so busy pulling parts for other guys that he won't have time to pull parts for his truck!

Man, that's close to the house, man. I got some good friends that still live there to this day. Unless he has the tilt stored in that schoolbus-o-columns, then they are gone. We went thru every van on the property. Oh well, I was there to look anyway. Next time I head home, I will have to give you a shout. I am craving a burger from that corner place across from the old Coke plant, anyway!!! |
