Wish us luck.

Hey now, there are plenty of good Fords out there... most of them don't have a check engine light tho ;) What car is the one you're working on? The CEL can come on for many reasons, loss of signal from a sensor is one of them - since it's been overheated, have you guys looked into the coolant temp sensors, particularly the one that feeds the PCM? Also in many of the '80s V8-equipped vehicles the light will come on when the oil level or pressure is down, believe that feature was retained in the newer models too - both of these will throw you a code usually right about never...

Scrambled to the the 550 sqft of hardwood flooring in the living and dining room done in time for Easter dinner with our friends and family only to have my wife inform me Friday night that everyone has decided to change the thing for two weeks from now so a friend of my wife can make it.

Yes, there are some good Fords out there. My Fairlane and Thunderbird are pretty good cars. But you are right, neither one of them has a check engine light. The Fairlane is a 65 and my Thunderbird is a 62.

Boat,

If you mount your swaybar with the standard drop mounts it will be a nerf bar for curbs?? Just do like Scoti said and I did and mount it right to the frame like this:

Finished product tucked up nice & tight!

Then you only have the lower control arms as nerf bars.

thanks for the pics jr........you,scoti,n2trux have all said the same thing about not needing those brackets, hell i'll save some bucks too.mine had a mangled one when i got it,tore it off so i never drove it with sway bar.so,i'm looking forward to a improvement.as far as lca nerfs, got the scars man.i think alot of us lowered guys do.:)

Getting in late on this, but this weekend I got the Burb running again. It kept dying and would die when going into gear. After digging into it this weekend I found the PCV port was completely stopped up. So far so good.

Thanks for the tips. The car is a 95 Ford Contour with the 24v v6. We haven't hooked it up to a diagnostic machine yet but plan to this week. Hopefully that will turn up something. I pray the something is a simple/cheap something...
