In late but is that cross member really only held in with one bolt in the photo at post 6? Don't know if that would cause your problem (maybe the cluck) but definatley not good. Factory came with 4 bolts per side, two each on the top and bottom rails. There is a lot of weight on that single 3/8" bolt.

Is there a chance that the front driveline is engaged with the hubs turned to unlock? that will make it vibrate.Ummm don't ask how I know that.

Any experience with that?

you are worried about a "slight" noise?

son, i have a manual 465, with a 203 and 205 doubler runing down to a 14bff with a detroit. when i accelerate all you hear is screaming bbc power, when i am up to speed all you hear is bogger whine, when i am slowing down all you hear is bearing and gear clash.

No it hasn't. I need to take the truck to the driveline shop and have them look at it.

No, two per side should work, I was thinking if there was only one the support might be rocking.

Re: Can you find the vibration???

So, I found out that the cab of my truck is a 2wd cab, the 2wd hump was cut out and retro fitted with a 4wd hump. Although this modification was done the transfer case was hitting the underside on the bed which led me to question the crossmember. After measuring the crossmember on my truck against a stock 4wd crossmember I found mine was an inch and a quarter short. I fabricated a spacer and fitted to the truck today, the vibration is significantly less noticeable. Almost not at all! I would say problem solved. There was also a broken motor motor mount, which was replaced today also.

Question though....

where can I find a 4x4 crossmember???

And thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge.

Don't quote me on this but I think the tail cone could be rotated?? My truck has a factory NP203 and does NOT have the tourqe arm. It looks like you definatly have a np205 tho because it has the lower drain plug which my np203 does not have.

Wish i could be more help

FYI
They make at least two different tail outputs that have the speedo in different positions. The one picured is about 9 o'clock (low) and the other one is about 2 o'clock (and high). And no you can't rotate them.
