Re: Is anyone running hydro boost?

You can also mount the hydroboost unit upside down from the original position. This positions the hoses on the bottom for a little cleaner look. I have the hydroboost mounting plates, and '67-'72 specific brackets for those interested. The link is in my sig......

I ordered my lines on line, cant remember where though.

I would have mounted the hydroboost unit upside down if I would have known at the time. It definatley would have made a cleaner install!!

Very nice bracket !!!! Wish I would have known about those

Re: Is anyone running hydro boost?

Like mentioned, they can be mounted upside down. That's what I had to do to get it to fit on the car.

What did you guys do about the power steering pump/pulleys. I took the hydro all out of the donor and took everything, but the pumps pulleys look bigger. Did you all just find another belt or?

Re: Is anyone running hydro boost?

I am running the stock size pulley from a non hydro boost set up. Mine is actually a MARCH setup.

Re: Is anyone running hydro boost?

Yea if I had more money and more time I would get the march brackets, they looks so nice. I need to get this on the go, old man winter is steadily approaching. Im just going to see if the old pulley will fit in the new reservoir/pump. What type of proportioning valve did you use 6600DURAMAX is it the stock model for our years?.

@yukonjack what type of adjustable proportioning valve did you get?

Re: Is anyone running hydro boost?

Does anyone know if the stock proportion valve will work with the hydro boost setup? or for that matter can our stock power steering pump/res be used with the hydro setup? The donor truck was a bbc and the brackets dont match either...

Re: Is anyone running hydro boost?

I used a disc/disc proportioning valve from Pirate Jack (part# PV4CK-2) with a line lock plumed into the front brakes. The master cylinder was also a disc/disc setup (part# MC2912ACHFT)

hope that helps out a little

Re: Is anyone running hydro boost?

Ive decided to save the hydro for another project so it gives me more time to acquire parts I need for it. Just too much of the unknown right now. The donor truck had a big block as well and the brackets look like theyd fit my 454 so I might try and use it with a bbc in my swb.
