hahaha im thinkin 1/10 per hole so that 230 should probably push the snot rocket into the 19 or 18 second range....

made some more progress. started wiring my 58 Chevy Impala tail lights. Set up a fuel filler and cap from West Marine. I frenched the antenna, I think it came out alright.

Is that a power antenna? That's kinda how mine is but on the back corner of the cab. I think french'd antennas are super cool!

Its just a retractable one...a real cheap one. I want to replace it with a power one eventually.

Man I totally dig your custom grille!!
I almost drooled when I saw your motor too...
I would be curious to know how much horse you get from that set up when you are done and it is running.

I just had my OHC-6 230ci rebuilt last year for my Tempest, and had a custom cam put in, with dual exhaust and a 4bbl Edelbrock on it. When you pop the hood on this truck you are going to get a lot of the same looks and questions I get when folks see that carb on my IL6.
Next summer when I am home I hope to find some place where I can get the horse power rated. My engine stock would have put out 165 hp, and I am hoping now it will be up in the 215 hp range.
You can take a peek at it on my CarDomain link, page 3.

Are you going to stay with the green, because that is just too radical, I dig it
!

im keeping the green...I actually painted it like this a few weeks ago, the whole fake patina thing was a blast to do. The engine is all stock except for the intake and the headers... so I am not sure how much power it will make. It sounds cool and I think that it looks cool too. thats all Im really going for.

Man I thought they would have run all those old trucks out of New York by now. Can I get a side shot of your truck. I wanna see your ride height with just drops and jeep springs. Kinda the way I wanna go. Thanks Jeff

Funny thing happend today. Turns out my truck is a 66! I noticed this when I was getting an insurance quote. I guess the 65 plate I bought will be going to my dad.

Kermit (ive been calling it Kermit because its green and its a little friendlier sounding than the snot rocket) is now on the road and Ive been driving it for the last few days trying to iron out all of the kinks.

Re: 65 C10 Little Blue Snot Rocket

I built a heat plate last night for my offy intake, the truck ran pretty good but the Carb would get colder as the truck got hotter causing a bad stumble almost as if it was 20 degrees out! As the fuel vaporises it has a cooling effect and from what I have heard, carbs can actually freeze in the middle of summer under certain conditions! Since I put headers on there was no more carb heat provision, and thats what caused the problem. Anyway it worked great! No more stumble, and the throttle response is great. I ran the lines kind of incognit so its tough to get a good picture. Below is a picture of the plate before it was finished. 2 quarter inch elbows, a new pipe tap, and some 3/8 line, two T's and a few hose clamps and the truck runs great. I used the old gasket as a template.
