Looks like the classes changed over the years? So I'd have to just pick a year and go with it. I found this over on HAMB, not sure what year though...
So looking online I'm seeing weights for our trucks in the 3200-3500 range, I'll go 3500 since its a big block...that puts my truck in B/G. If I dropped my weight to 3200, it would go into A/G.. |

1958 NHRA Rule Book
Nostalgia Gassers Racing Association - NHRA Must run service station pump gasoline 1. There shall be 5 classes in this division classified according to the total car weight divided by total cubic inches engine displacement. Designations: A/G, B/G, C/G, D/G, or E/G preceded by car number •Class ‘A’ – 0 to 8.99 # per cu in •Class ‘B’ – 9.00 to 10.99 # per cu in •Class ‘C’ – 11.00 to 12.99 # per cu in •Class ‘D’ – 13.00 to 13.99 # per cu in •Class ‘E’ – 14.00 and up # per cu in This was when 392 was BIG! ...so pick your era and choose your class! |

Friend---I just quit trying to get a 500 in cad in my 56---when I got it where I wanted it I would have had to gouge into the firewall 8-9 inches----anymore forward and then the a frames hit the block header exhaust and the oil filter is always a problem--check the caddy forums and they will all tell you DONT run a remote oil filter as they just dont seem to work--- MINE has a nova sub on it---maybe its easier with stock BUT----Do lots of measuring and test fitting---Good luck
