The Lokar bracket is on, just had to drill the housing out a little. Tapped in with a brass hammer and good to go! Finished putting the front clip back on. Painted the core support and mounted my radiator and getting my Dual fan shroud worked out. Weather is has been touch and go here, had 3" snow Saturday. Today its 60* now! Crazy! Working out my Cold air intake, have to cut and TIG weld it back together. The laundry list is getting shorter. Wish I wasn't self employed at times. Hard on free time! Just lost my Fiance of 3yrs, Guess she didn't Like the life either! Work hard, and sometimes I guess forget to stop and smell the Rose's! Got the Dash Finished. It painted up nice.
Attachment 608530 Auto Meter Phantom Gauges in the stock bezel. The Aluminum panel I fabbed up fit like a glove. Put the turn signal, hi-beam and check eng lights in. Might have to put a diode on the Blue Hi-beam. Man it bright! Attachment 608531 The gauges look neat behind the Grant leather wheel. Mounted the Monster Tach. Still have to wire that baby Attachment 608532 Pumb the heater core and the fresh painted inner fenders. Routing the engine wires and started hooking them up. The engine bay sure got smaller with the fenders in there. Attachment 608533 Building a mount for the Be Cool Radiator tonight. After that I should be ready to rock. :metal: Justin |

Just installed the exhaust.
The muffler shops around here didn't act like they wanted to fool with me. So I bought a 2 1/2" U-fit kit from Jeg's and a Pair of S/S 40Flowmasters. It was a cut and fit thing! Besides my ugly welds, I think it came out ok. Even though the Driver side was a the fickle, I was able to tuck the pipe enough to clear the ground and the stock trans cross member. Attachment 625229 Attachment 625230 Attachment 625231 Attachment 625232 Attachment 625233 Dump over the Axle. Here is a Video of it Trying to Idle! Re: The 5.3 Blazer build
I've been away for awhile. I lost my Father the 2nd of Sept. And just have been taking care of my family.
Kinda put my project on the back burner. But thing's are getting better. I now have the ECM retuned for my cam. Night and day. Been driving "Ruby" quite a bit. Justin |
Re: The 5.3 Blazer build
Sorry about your dad, I lost my mom 3 years ago and it has been the hardest thing I have ever done. But it dose get better.
And I love the sound of the blazer..:metal: Trav |
Re: The 5.3 Blazer build
Thanks. Its getting better. I have my Family and few great friends help me through. My father and I wroked everyday together in our meat business. For the last 4 years he was recovering for 3 strokes, and couldn't return to work.
I've keep our Butcher shop alive through his teachings. And I'm here to say. 20 years in this business, and not I'm gonna stop. I'm happy with the performance and sound that cam added. 227/ 233 .584 lft. 113 LSA. Lunati Voodoo grind. Took her out again last night. Changed the Plugs from the NGK Iridium to A/C Delco Iridium. Made a big difference! Found a little vac leak on the PVC hose, just clamped it tighter. Ran smoother. There is a collector leak that is ticking. But I didn't have the time to tighten that up. All in all, shes' running great. Drove it to work this morning. The heads where turning, along with the Derby PD. The truck drives nice.;) Even without overdrive, don't make you deaf from the drive. But I'm gonna get the overdrive later for sure. For now, I'm happy. The radiator and home made hoses seem to be doing there jobs. Took it up to my Uncles place last night, (45miles up and 45 back) The fans are working great, never went over 220* in traffic. Knock on wood that its cooling! Mileage isn't that bad. 15 ish mpg.. eeh but its Hot rod! Change the oil over there, (I hit walmart on the way up) And everything looked great. The mileage went up a little on the way home. Guess the oil change with Lucas stablizer helped. After the change, Oil pressure at Ilde was 50 lbs, before it was 42-45 lbs. So the Vital's are holding, and the trans is shifting great. The 4.10's are nice! The stall flash is more like 3600 than the spec. 3400 RPM. But I seems to be ok. Went the Local COOP. And my buddy Billy was at the scales, weighed in at 2788 with full 20 gallon tank, w/me in it. But there is another hundred more in cage and interior parts left to go back in. So I've been really busy guys! Enjoying the hell out of my" Other woman" as Allison call's Ruby. LOL! Justin |
Re: The 5.3 Blazer build
You're getting 15mpg with 4:10s and a 3600 stall!? Hmmm, might have to put a 5.3 in the noma
