I stumbled upon a couple other sources, seems the 4x4 guys have quite a good selection of tabs, bar stock, link bars, etc.

Re: project 62

|
Re: project 62
 yeah i got kind of picture lazy and it seems my slow progress has lost quite a bit of thread interest including my own
Building a tube bender, we'll see how it all turnes out |
Re: project 62
Hmmm a tube bender eh.. Sounds like fun, I may need some bending in the future. Most of us get a little stagnant on the progress in the real world. Dang families, wives getting pregnant :crazy:and those dang employers expecting us to show up and do stuff:uhmk: Later

Re: project 62
Well i got a thought by looking at them like this and figured i could make it look a little cleaner than zip ties to frames that i have seen rolling around here
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18887 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18888 Made a manifold to cut down on all the lines http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18893 Not Completed but you get the idea http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18896 Also mocked up the radiator and air cleaner so that i can fit it all under the hood and build a core support http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18892 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18891 |
Re: project 62
Got ahold of a complete 6.0 that pushed out a cam bearing (apparently not uncommon for) Checked the block and it was not hurt so im going to use a dab of Loctite on some durabonds and go with it. My helpers lending a hand tearing it down.

Re: project 62
Just read through yer build thread. MAN! Wish I joined this club on 2009!!! I missed out on some comical conversation! Nice build and keep up the good work!:metal:
|
Re: project 62
Got started on the core support and its going to turn out like i am hoping it will. Here is the bender i made in action on one of the frame to core support brace. Ill post more when it makes more sense to others
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18899 Crooked $30 piece of metal that i hope works out ;) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18900 |

Very nice progress Scott!

Re: project 62
Thanks Mike, thanks again for the help with the tank!
|
Re: project 62
Used some plastic line around the shop and hooked air up to try the valves out just using the fancy way of touching wires together but it worked
Going to run stainless line to everything later. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=18912 |
Re: project 62
Cool!! Progress no matter which way you look at it.
|
Re: project 62
I always liked the SMC diaphragm valves and the box should keep it all neat. Much faster than the fancy stuff but quite a bit of plumbing. Make sure to keep moisture out of them when it's cold outside. One truck I had with those mounted under the bed would freeze/stick when below freezing because it didn't have a water seperator. Several times I had to wait for the exhaust to warm up the tank and valves to work properly. Sold it before I fixed that problem. Not the smartest thing to drive in the snow anyways...
