Re: My 1959 apache project

Thanks!!!
I am using a 60 gallon ir compressor with a 7 year old sata jet gun, im in no way a pro painter I took a painting class one semester at out local college in 1999 and the rest has just been trial and error. I love painting hate bodywork but I do it because id rather see my own flaws then pay to see someone elses. Thanks for all the positive comments on my build I really appreciate all the input. its been triple digit heat over here in northern ca so im taking a break until it cools off a bit.

Thanks tpi. Thinking this might be a better option for us than sending it out and having it painted. What type of primer did you use?

Its a ton of work to do your own vehicle, strip to bare metal, epoxy, rust repair patches, bodywork, blocking, prep for paint, shoot it, color sand it, buff it I just refuse to pay thousands for work I can do myself and lets face it there is no such thing as a perfect paint job/body work so id rather see my own flaws then pay to see someone elses every time I get into my truck.
I used 5 star xtreme high build primer (black) I love it because I can test it with water to see if theres any major flaws.

Since i need to raise bed floor 2" to clear everything im taking old cross member cutting it and welding it to existing cross member to give it that factory look.

I didn't see anywhere that you mentioned it, but what is the name of that color? That is a gorgeous color.

My goal is to raise the wood floor just enough to clear everything which is only 2" and still have that factory look. Should be all done by weekend then continue with bed bodywork so i can paint bed
