Re: speaker placement

bcb, yeah i would put them out in front... this also applies to your setup bigsky. your kicks are angled nicely upwards, but i would also angle them in more. try to aim for the steering wheel with an imaginary straight line from the center of the mids to the outsides of the steering wheel. that should get you there! if you are really concerned about having too much airspace, use baffles. i would use them anyways. they really do make a difference!
glad to help:)

OK will do!!!!. glad i asked because i definately wouldn't have done that with just my thoughts haha, but angling toward the steering wheel edges? as in which edge . . .(technically circles don't have edges ;) haha)

heres what i built, sounds pretty good, i need a bigger amp :metal:

the sound is a litte central in the truck, but with a couple 6x9 speaks in the doors it should sound great ..

not bad for about 400 bucks total.

the box I built myself in shop class, and upholstered it with my grandpa. it sits directly under where the radio is under the dash, and extends all the way under the seat.

Nice 69halfton. . . .i really considered something almost exactly like that at first but i decided i wanted to avoid the central sound if possible. . .being in a small cab i'm not sure it really matters, but looks great!!

OK. . .i have drawn up a speaker box for a 10" JL Audio sub. . . .I will scan it later to upload but I'm happy with the design. . .it is VERY simple and up for MANY alterations. . .ill post pics when done with actual construction!!

The latest of my work. I have two 3 way's under the seat and two two ways in the dash above the radio.
