Finally getting moving along again. I realized I missed a ton of stuff, But i did put it together enough to drive it at graduation and hear the very healthy engine run. Loved how it sounded. More recently I Built a fan shroud for the 16" electric fan because I decided to go that route. I also bent up some tranny cooler lines and got rid of the external cooler for a cleaner look. I blasted the cab and got most of the holes and spot welds smoothed out. I disassembled the entire bed and started getting a game plan figured out. I am going to run a roll pan along with a rear bumper that is nice and tucked in. Full ocd on engine bay to make it as absolutely tidy as I can. All spark plug wires are hidden, and all engine bay wires will be hidden in F6 wire loom which I love the look of. Bent up a solid fuel line. I used header paint and clear on the headers, after a quick porting to open them up to the port on the head. I want to hear any input, or if any of you have ideas on paint because I am constantly torn. Please turn head for viewing pleasure.

More pictures including the header porting, tore down both doors and stripped all the paint off. Filled trim holes, and rust repair. Starting to gear up for bodywork and paint so I see alot of block sanding in my future.

So the cut down to swb is happening, I feel like it is a must. I really cant stand the lwb pickups. I need input on if I cut directly under the cab and don't even mess with the suspension, I should be safe correct? I know most people cut further back but I am not sure why that would be nessesary. Thanks for any help.

I did some cutting yesterday. No more LWB!! it has been bugging me for a while and finally bit the bullet. Used the plasma to cut, and tigged all back together. Fit up was excellent, how ever laying underneath and running a foot pedal with the underside of my knee wasn't much fun. Within 1/16" of being perfect.

Started cutting the heavily mangled bedsides. Pounded out most of the damage before cutting, and set the cut right in the middle of the damage just to get rid of it. Last pic is the side tacked and clamped in one piece. World of difference from being 8 feet long. BTW, right side is just help with clamps that is not final alignment, left side is however permanent. thanks

Got the frame shortening process completed, welded on the new cab mounts I made, and got it all painted up again. Then I cut down the driveshaft to find out that the crossmember is a little to close for comfort, about 1 inch with no weight on the suspension. I will just modify that some. And I put the cab on to start mocking up everything before starting body work and paint. And for anyone wondering I made sure the driveshaft yoke was clocked perfectly and that the entire thing was true. And will take it to get the balance checked. And a little comparison between my weld and the place that made it.
