As some of you know I've been debating on getting a Dana 60 front from a buddy......well, I broke a front axle-joint and stub shaft on my Dana 44, so....decision made. I'll start a new thread as I start working on the 60.

Some of my friends call my truck terminator cuz it doesn't like to stop or once I start I don't stop until I bust thru to the other side...that time I alomost lost it so I had to stop and take a different line  some of the guys I have wheeled with in the past take FOR EVER to get thru a hard spot, stoping, backing up, worried about whatever.....then I pull up look for my line and then go go gadget throttle foot...works but not everytime hahahaa  Another reason I NEED a front D60 :c2: My next adventure will be at Pismo Dunes in May...really get to open up the 454 there:bowtie: :cf: :burnout: |

I cant speak for the Pullman area (go Cougs!) but Spokane has a great, free off-road park.
Theres a very cool 4x4 get together up north at a friends place in Ione, Wa. this weekend, but of course my Blazer is still in the one-ton conversion process. The irony is that the parts I'm waitng for to finish this project are at his place in Ione! and wont be delivered untill after this weekend. :( |
Re: 4X4 Action Pix
Thought this was a 4x4 ACTION pics thread...
Don't see no action going on, let alone anything 4x4. :hmm:  J/K - it bites to miss an event but you'll make the next one. |
Re: 4X4 Action Pix
What, cant you appreciate truck-on-jackstand-action?? I knew someone would see through my lame attempt to keep this thread going while my truck is NOT going. :)

Made a quick trip out to break-in the new Lock-Right front locker AND new front D60. Both worked awesome! It was too dry, too hot and too dusty but still fun. :) |
Re: 4X4 Action Pix
AND..did both front tires spin equally? No slipping?
I ran into a few road blocks so my off road adventures are gonna have to wait...:whine: |

John looks like you got the new 60 up and running. :metal: Have tons of fun. I stuck a lock-rite in my front 2 months ago and have only tried it in the grass, flat ground.
I'd like to try mine some day. |
Re: 4X4 Action Pix
The 4x4 section is unbelievably slow...what gives?

So it rained Sunday night, which got me pumped to go wheelin' on Monday (Memorial Day). While Im making my basic pre-trip inspection I notice that both front brake hoses are "seeping" so maybe my backyard engineered brake lines wont cut it. Also I had to cut off the rear u-bolts (stretched, loose and rusted) and replace with new ones...good thing I had extras.
The real "fun" happened at the park, I lost all brakes but the left front??? I didnt lose any fluid so I'm thinking maybe proportioning valve?? Also the left front wheel wouldnt lock. Hub?? Locker?? My anger at all my mechanical problems distracted me from getting any pix. So I stopped "barely  " on the way home and clicked off some poser shots. |
Re: 4X4 Action Pix
nice shots dude. i used to go to 7mile when i had a quad and i am one of those guys that bithed about the park. i have not been there with a 4x4 but when you are on a quad that place gets really small quick. one day i might take the truck i got when my father passed out there. not sure if i want to run it like that though.
here is my pic http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...k/Dsc00899.jpg http://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c3.../dans%20truck/ i am more into building my 80c-10 short right now but ike i said maybe some day i will get over my fear of wheeling dads truk. c ya steve |
