Hey, how are you gonna get away with that customized '56 plate when personalized plates didn't exist in California until 1976? Has a rule changed and I'm behind the curve?

Not to hijack, but does anyone know the correct California plate color/size for a '55.2? My earliest childhood memories are of plates like tpi's on my Dad's purchased new '55 Chevy two door hardtop but my '46 Chevy pickup had a much bigger, rounded corner plate and I'm wondering if that was still the correct plate for '55.2 trucks?

I have a set of yellows on my bubble top same way been driving it for 5 years now never pulled over even once dont even have the month or year tags exposed haha

Gauges look great and love the steering wheel!

Yeah, forgot to mention I'm loving that wheel too. They're pricey but you've got me thinking of a red and cream colored two tone version for my truck. Guess I'd better start collecting more aluminum cans!!

Re: My 1959 apache project

Thanks! I really like the wheel gives it a updated classic look! well the drivers door has been a real female dog but I think its dialed in enough to paint im going to try to spray it tomorrow before my Lake Tahoe trip but not 100% sure yet.

Looks really good!

I wonder if there would be any way to get the same material the louvers are made from and make slightly longer ones that would follow the curve around the big window corners? Still looks great though.

tpimuncie 09-26-2015 03:34 PM

Re: My 1959 apache project

Would be hard to do so because these are aluminum but everything is possible! Its only metal hahha

The aftermarket clips i used work ok but not great in the corners so i salvaged some original clips now those work killer!!
