Yeah I know how those back issues can be. The pain is ridiculous. Any way nope, I'm not getting close at all. I have not touched that truck in a while. Honey do list man, you know how it is. I have to finish what the wife needs first then comes my toys. If the wife is not happy no body is happy. They have a way of making sure of that.lol

The truck is looking great man.

Worked until 3am this morning fibreglassing. Got the wood blocks changed out to metal, stereo head fitted, two more coats put on, and a first attempt at the storage box for console. Only had about a 1/16" inch of glass on my fingers when I went inside.

This is the tape I use. Fibreglass does not faze it. It is called metalized tape. Plastic with thin coating of metal on it. It is transparent also. I should coat my door handles. Stuff looks as good as chrome.

Re: My 1952 truck.

Mind explaining how you did it? I have a stake pocket that is bent all to rat sh$t. With all the curves and radius's, looks tough to replicate.

SSABMUD 02-23-2013 12:31 PM

Re: My 1952 truck.

Just go buy some 3/8" rod, cut and bend to the shape you want, weld the rod pieces to the existing pocket. Then cut flat 18 gauge pieces to fill in the holes. Flush on the sides and recessed on the top.

Thanks for the steps but how are you replicating the radius between on the top piece that it welded underneith to the 3/8" rod?

Are you riveting the metal brackets to the glass? Or just grinding up the mating surfaces and glassing them? More pics of the console progress! Love it!!!

Put it back in truck to make sure everything fits properly. Then I need to do one final glass after console tray is done to fix small flaws before filler.

Sometimes you think about all the cash going into your truck, then you see a 15,000 square foot house being built! Think of his bills!

Could someone explain to me why my IPhone pictures keep loading on here sideways and why I can't upload more than one photo at a time? Anyways, I think I am going to ditch this shifter boot ring but keep the led shift light.

ssabmud, coming along nice. yeah a 15k sq ft house ahhh no thanks on that one. Cost of wood is ridiculous these days.

As for your pics. What you can try, (seeings you probably don't have a program on your computer to edit them) is open up your photos on your iphone then tap on a photo once. You will see in the upper right corner and edit button, tap that, then you will see a rotation arrow and you can rotate your images, then hit save. then try uploading it. Also are you uploading from your phone or computer?

Yeah I know how to rotate them on my phone, but they are not sideways on my phone? I have to get my digital camera out there and use it along with the computer again. Far less painful.

Re: My 1952 truck.

maybe try rotating the picture the "opposite" way you want it on your phone and upload it, maybe it will rotate it to the way you really want it. worth a try, never uploaded from my phone so I dunno. Computer much easier.
