Man im not even sure what that means.. lol. I wonder if I could polish that off even. I just want it smooth and groove free.

Re: 1977 K10 Silverado Longbox

You may be able to polish or smooth it off but I don't know for sure. I know when bearings let loose on mine I couldn't save the spindle. It wasn't real hard to replace but still it takes time. I don't know if they make like a bearing saver or what ever you call it like they do for rear axles. Either way your neck deep now. Lol.

I saw someone else use them here, I had to go look it up: link. He used them where the seal rides.

Great work, you are definitely putting in some time. Never know what you are going to run into with the old front ends, always some kind of issue it seems.

Decided to replace the ujoints in the axles. Always a good idea this stripped down. Original Spicers have served well, time for new Spicers!

Looking good Mike, are you going to lift this thing at all? I think a 2" lift would really set off the stance.

I never wanted to modify the truck from stock..I just love a clean stock look 'factory restore'. The more I look into it, I think I may do a 2 inch lift just to give it a tougher look.. still thinking on it.

Saw your video mang, nice work yourself! Wish I had seen yours first! Lol.

I plan on getting the axle joints back in and the center clean up this week. Maybe even painted and ready to assemble all my bjoints and bearings by next week.

Got a little more done in the tear down part of the front end rebuild. I'm collecting a pile to go have powder coated. Ball joints pressed out and pulled the pulley off the power steering pump. I'm going to replace the pump as its full of rust. Its gone!!

The bottom ones are toast. #sloooooooppppy

And yes, it's all getting replaced because I don't want to do this for a long time from now. :)

Cool, I got lucky with mine alignment went smooth. How hard is it to replace them? I'm just wondering. All my experience is with 2wd suspensions. When I tightened my wheel bearings it didn't seem to difficult to get there.

3.08 from the factory. I confirmed by the count and GM stampings.

Hey Mike, when you changed the transmission fluid, how many quarts did it take? Where did you get the filter and gasket? My pan is starting to seep a little bit and want to service it before it gets worse. Thanks.

Matt I don't remember on the amount.. The pan is cheap and came from Ebay. Gasket came with it. If you dont have a drain hole in your pan, id replace the pan so you can change the fluid in the future without the huge mess.
