He won the bench press only in the 198 teen division at 342 and the power lifting in the same division with bench 342, squat 419 and dead lift 463. This was the first time that he had ever attempted squat or dead lift and only the second time that he has competed.

No problem...there is a nice lake at the base of the dunes.

And where might we see the pics of this new boat?

No pics yet.

It's nothing special anyway, an older 17' Sea Ray with a 170hp 4banger and a Merc IO drive.

I know the guy that's selling it really well, he's one of those 'meticulous' kinda guys that keeps his toys in excellent condition, combined with the $$ he wanted, it was one of those deals a person just can't pass up.
(in my best 'trust me honey' voice) :hm:

It's a turn key set up, he included everything needed to get on the water and those are the thing's that add up IMO.

Not a problem...nothing else to see lately on my progress sooooo...

Looks like some major fun to be had with that baby. I had a Fourwins 17' open bow with a HO 4 banger several years ago, I loved that boat. Someday I may have another.

Do you ski, kneeboard, tube, wakeboard, or just cruise? Oops, I almost forgot the most important one...FISH?

Re: Got Rust?

Mainly got it for family fun and fishing with my boy.

I ski, did a lot of it when I was young, also noticed an uber huge tube in a customers garage yesterday and inquired about it, yep, it's for sale. ;)

Re: Got Rust?

I know...I know...been a while since I've done anything to the Blazer, but now that the kids are going back to school and the landscaping, deck building, swimming and all around summer fun is winding down, I'm going to shift gears and get something done.

While getting the frame ready for blasting, I noticed a broken shackle up front, so it's new shackles, bushings all around and while I'm at it, a shackle flip in the rear. Any advice...I've found ORD and DIY4X. After adding everything up, the difference between the 2 was $2. Anyone have any pros or cons for either company?

I also found a rear upper shock mount that has been "fixed" by the PO. That has to go as well, what would be the easiest way to replace that be? The bolt itself has been welded for whatever reason, so it looks like I will have to remove the entire mount to change it. Haven't spent much time on that though.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance. :uhmk:

I just ordered a bunch of suspension stuff from DIY.

Good company with all kinds of trick stuff.

I received a quick reply from Kert himself answering my e-mails and that alone speaks volumes IMO.

I agree...quick reply is very important!

They did seem to have more cool stuff.

Thanks!

Re: Got Rust?

Well I am finally getting back at it. :metal:

Here are a few things that I need to take care of first.
I ordered a couple 1-3/8" washers for this fix.

http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...d/DSC00514.jpg

This one I'm not quite sure how to attack, I don't know how to replace this shock mount yet. Any ideas?

http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...d/DSC00507.jpg

And the last thing which I will do after blasting will be new front and rear shackles and bushings, as well as a shackle flip. Does anyone know where stock front shackles and bushings can be had? Check one of the PO's handy work.

Wow, I can't believe anyone would repair that shackle like that! That is crazy!!!

I think I have the shackle's from my 70 K5 in the barn - if so, you can have them! I'll check when I go out there later today.

Edit: Okay, just ran out and I do still have that set. They are still attached to springs I pulled off the K5 when I put on correct 4" springs. Let's hope the bolts aren't seized as my sawzall is dead and I'll have to switch to a cutoff wheel to cut the bolts if they are seized.

I'll wait until you verify you want a used set before I go to the trouble of getting them removed.

Wow YJ, thanks a ton. Any parts you need? I have a few parts here and there.

Yeah, I about crapped when I saw that nice repair.

Re: Got Rust?

Hmmm, do you have any door handle parts? I'm missing a part that moves the lock linkage.

Yes I believe so. If you can get a pic I will check. I do have 2 extra doors with most of the hardware in them.

Re: Got Rust?

Okay, we lucked out, they were not seized so I've got them taken off - pm me your address as I'm not sure I still have it.

Do you want all four shackle pieces for a complete set for both front springs or do you just need a single replacemant piece to replace your broken one?

Also, regarding the rear shock mount problem. I think I have a new replacement that came with a set of shocks I bought a while back. I can't guarantee it is the same as yours that is in need of repair, but I imagine it is. Want me to throw it in to bring your total up to a whooping $0.00?

Edit: I do have one of those rear shock replacement mount bolts. It is a bolt in style. I'm guessing you have to cut off your existing factory shock bolt that is probably welded in place then you bolt in the new one.

Did you actually drive it on that repair, that's pretty scary.

The only driving I've done in it was to drive it home, about a 1.5 miles.

But I'm thinking someone drove it like that at one time. :ack:

Re: Got Rust?

Well...I got the frame problem taken care of. Not perfect but I think it will do the trick.

Spent a lot of time rebuilding the radiator support under the battery. I'll blast a few areas then weld it in, hopefully tomorrow.
