Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
No pictures, but I got a little bit more done today. Now that I know the cab & frontend fit without issue, I’ll separate them from the chassis. Then I’ll get the chassis and motor finalized and do the firewall and interior on the cab separately. Then I’ll marry them back together and do the wiring & such.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
I really like your build and your choice on the level 1 drop member. Question, when laid out, are the front wheels pretty straight up and down? I ask because I am running PB narrow arms on a factory crossmember and the slant pretty good laid out. Looking to get a new PB drop member but was curious first. Thanks, Neil

They are pretty straight up and down considering its still only had a tape measure alignment for toe. I feel like it’ll be much better once the alignment is correct. |

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
Last question, what front version of the PB k member do you have and did you go with the narrowed arms as well? Really like the stance, mine will be very similar, laying pinch isn’t my jam.

Scoti, they are Flowtech headers for a 68-72 bbc chevelle. Ceramic coated and seem to be very heavy duty construction. |

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
I’m still working on Walter but the little stuff just isn’t picture worthy. I’ve decided to replace the inner & outer rockers, lower kick panels and the door bottoms and blend the paint on the outer rockers. I’ll shave the unused holes in the firewall and paint the interior and firewall. And finally, going to replace the core support because Walter’s is rotted under the old battery location.

I am an RN, so my free time to tinker has been absolutely destroyed by this current mess going on. But to prove he’s still here and waiting patiently ...
I did throw in one of the billet marker lights just for some eye candy and to be able to say I did something. |

Not much time to tinker, but I did fit one of the core support/grille filler panels just for motivation.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
I like those filler panels & plan to use some as well.

I just got a set from a guy here in Nor Cal. $169 with free shipping. He also does the ones with holes and triangular cutouts. Mine came raw steel and require a small amount of trimming on the core support. |

I still haven’t done anything with Walter, but I did add a new Chevy to the toy barn.
|
Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
Uh-oh. Looks like fun.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
Nice toy! That will distract you from the truck I'm sure :)

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
I got everything sorta caught up and now Walter is the project now up and running. It’s now got to get up, running and functioning.

Got him split back apart. I’m going to get all the plumbing in place on the chassis, ie: brake, fuel & air lines. I also decided that the current trans crossmember was NOT going to work with the chevelle headers and the PorterBuilt dropmembers. So, I got an eBay special and it appears to be exactly what I needed to keep the exhaust tucked up tight.
|
Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
No pictures but I got the high pressure fuel filter mounted. The lines to and from the Boyd EFI tank are made. The rear brake line is mostly made and the new transmission crossmember is finalized. Then I’ll get the airlines run. I’ll have to pull the motor and trans to get the front brake lines built. Then full disassembly and paint of the frame followed by final reassembly of the rolling chassis.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
Trans x-member looks decent. Source details?
