Re: Hooker Blackheart 1967-72 C10 Truck LS/LT Swap System Info Thread
When I did my C10 I used mandrel bends from Summit. I try guesstimate the number needed but here in MN they have mandrel bends at the local Fleet Farm store. NAPA has them also. Dyno Max turbo mufflers. 3" at the header collector reduced to 2.5". I use band clamps not the typical muffler clamps. I typically start at the header and work my way to the end of the vehicle.

I have exhaust from the headers to the axle that are good and stainless, I just do not have the over axle tail pipes because I did not know what bends I would need.

But now I get on here an read someone has been waiting months for there kit to show up! I’m giving them 2 mores weeks an then I’m going to have to cancel my order an have an exhaust shop build it for me! Summer is almost here an I have my truck registered in a car show in may! And it’s getting to close for comfort!!

I would not wait the 2 weeks, I still have not received mine.
Something else is going on I can not see blaming it on covid. |
Re: Hooker Blackheart 1967-72 C10 Truck LS/LT Swap System Info Thread
I would agree that your best course of action would be to go with an alternative source for your exhaust system if you are trying to be at a show with your truck on a specific date next month. I might make the same choice myself if I were in your shoes.

Re: Hooker Blackheart 1967-72 C10 Truck LS/LT Swap System Info Thread
toddoky. I went with the Blackheart setup straight out the back and I am now wondering what I could do to tuck the end pieces up in the rear step fenders some more so they can't be seen. When you stand at the side of the truck you can see the tailpipe too much between the rear of the step fender and the bumper. Can I get the end pieces only to have a local shop bend them (without a hanger)? Maybe I should have just ordered the ones that go out the side and modified them. Thanks for any help

Re: Hooker Blackheart 1967-72 C10 Truck LS/LT Swap System Info Thread
The components are all run to build complete systems, so there is nothing left over to offer as individual parts once the production run gets boxed up and placed on the shelf.
I'm not aware of any aftermarket exhaust manufacturer that offers individual system parts for sale, but I can see where that would sometimes be of benefit to an end user such as yourself. A competent fabricator can build you any sort of tips you want from U-bends; complete custom exhaust systems are fabricated that way in great numbers. |

I ordered HOK-BH13195 in December 2020 from Summit thinking I may have a chance at installing during the Christmas holidays...boy was I off, as I am still waiting...

I can confirm that the components within the different Hooker Blackheart exhaust systems are the same with the exception of the tips themselves and the rear hanger brackets.

Re: Hooker Blackheart 1967-72 C10 Truck LS/LT Swap System Info Thread
There is a new set of headers working its way through the release process that was specifically designed for the narrower frame rails of the 1963-67 C10 trucks. The design of those headers came about from discovering that the headers designed for the 1968-72 C10's wouldn't fit the earlier frame. That wasn't one of my personal projects, so I don't know when its release is scheduled for. Since you are installing a 2.5" exhaust system, you will need to perform some form of adapting to get it to connect to the long-tube headers since the collectors on them have 3" outlets.

So an update! Had to cancel my order bh13194 cause it got pushed to sept 20th! Ordered kit bh13193, which is a 3” exhaust kit! shows up at my house 4 days later missing parts, all the hardware: brackets, bolts, insulators, clamps, even instructions all missing! I got 8 exhaust pipe pieces, and 2 mufflers that’s it!

Re: Hooker Blackheart 1967-72 C10 Truck LS/LT Swap System Info Thread
I received my Blackheart engine stands and cross member yesterday...this weekend, pull out the old tired 350 (71 lwb) hopefully dropping in the LM7/4L60E. A little worried that the truck oil pan won't clear, but some say it does. Fingers crossed.
