The problem with that is that the paint on em is just for protection during storage and installtion. According to the paperwork, it will burn off in the first few minutes of running the engine, and rust during the next few, I bet:lol:.

Another question...which core support would you use....one that needed rust repair on both sides and in the center (not bad, just some) or one that was less rusty but bent back on one side? I think it could be bent back out, but you know how that goes.

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

I've heard that the after market core supports aren't that bad as far as fitment. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Maybe so, I've heard everything good and bad. I didn't realize the one I had was bent, but neither of them are in real bad shape.

id bend back the other one. how bent is it? if its just a lil twisted all the way across the support and not just one hard bend in one area, id just bolt it up by pushing it and it should look like normal. although if it is one area, like headlight area is bent in over 4 inchs from normal might need some hammering, if you do the ball peen and a couple rags on a good vise, or just clamp it straight little by little.

i just noticed your plugs are angled down, what castings do you have? i have never seen em like that. might be rare

Idk I would possibly look into an aftermarket core support. I plan to for the dually

One end is tweaked, out past where it bolts to the frame.

The plugs are actually straight. Blame it on weird cell phone pic angle. The casting is 440, though.

I will post pics later, but I went to SoKy Classics and got a core support, inner grille, and dash pad today!! And then the motor blew in that bastard sumb%$# buick on the way home, but I coasted on to my road, and pushed it the rest of the way. Dang, I'm tired!
