New Door panels
So i think it is time to get some new door panels for my 79 Scottsdale. I know USA1 is the place to go. They have these
https://www.usa1industries.com/1977-...airs-only.html or Silverado style with the pocket. Any other options out there. Are the ones in the link too cheap? |
Re: New Door panels
I just cancelled my door panel order from usa1
I had placed it 02/2021 and just kept getting the run around every month, either they were didn’t have materials or it would be shipped following week |

Re: New Door panels
You gotta remember the materials and stuff is out of their hands. I’m sure they were being promised materials by a certain time, and then they didn’t get them. So they are exactly in the same predicament that we are in. Being told one thing, and hoping for the best, it only to be disappointed when their supplies don’t show up.

Re: New Door panels
Any thoughts on the original question?

I wasted money on LMC door panels, twice. I wished I would have used USA1 the first time around, but I was trying to keep it on a budget. But in the long run, I ended up spending more, not to mention all the work. Changing out door panels 3-4 times. I will say this, I’m good at it now, lol! I should have just sucked it up and spent the money on the ones I have now, which is the Silverado for the 81-87 from USA1. |

Re: New Door panels
Will the 81-87 fit my 79?
https://www.usa1industries.com/1981-...or-panels.html or do I need to stay with the 77-80? https://www.usa1industries.com/1977-...panel-kit.html What is the difference? I am all manual. |
Re: New Door panels
So after I cancelled my order usa1 reached out to me and said my panels were ready to ship so I gave them another chance! So far the labels been created I’ll let you guys know on quality if or when they come in! So it was about 14 months for them to finally be done

Re: New Door panels
My concern with the usa1 door panels is that they are dyed in color. The factory door panels were not dyed.

Now mine, the ones I got from them 4 years ago, those were black and dyed Charcoal. I’m pretty easy on my door panels, so they are still like the day I got them. I did have 1 minor scratch when I was installing them, but I have the same dye. I just sprayed a little in the can cap and used a touch tip and dabbed the scratch. Covered it right up, and it’s been fine since. |

Re: New Door panels
Thanks, not sure what I am going to do. I do not like the 79 panels and do not want to change all the internals. I have an OK set from LMC that are cracked. Still thinking about what to do
