Eaton limited slip differential

So if I’m to believe the sticker behind my gas tank, my 60 half ton 2WD has a limited slip. After an hour of reading old threads I think I actually know less than I did before I started. Do I have clutches in my carrier that need a posi additive? Can I run old school 80/90 weight gear oil, with the posi additive, and be OK? Does it need to be hypoid oil? I’ve yet to drive it so I don’t know what kinda shape the rear end is in, those clutches may be totally shagged by now.
Thanks!

You CAN run a LSD gear oil in an open diff with no problems whatsoever.

You NEED an LSD gear oil in a friction-type LSD.

You do NOT want an LSD gear oil in a Helical/Torsen diff.

Cheers!

When I worked for Chevrolet , we had an additive that was made from whale oil that we used in the limited slip rears that had clutches in it, but that went out with the whales.
I am sure there is an additive that you can use now.

This is what I have seen people use with no issues.
