I need to hook up my cig. lighter..... but i dont know were the wires go to... i have a painless harness in the truck so i have a wire going from that to the cig. lighter but my cig. lighter aslo has 2 wires coming out of it..... could someone please tell me if the other is just simply a ground or what it is....

Thanks a lot

I believe that 2nd terminal will be for a ground. If you are putting the cig lighter in the original dash location though you shouldn't have to worry about it because it is self grounding. Or at least should be. If that don't work will then Hook up a simple ground.

it must be a ground. mine just has one wire and it grounds to the dash when you screw it together

Did'nt some lighters have one wire for power and another wire for a light?(so you could see where to put it back)....then grounded to the dashboard.
Might be thinking Pontiac here......but you know GM! :bowtie:

Yes, many of the Cigar Lighters had a light. If you still have the stock wires on the lighter socket, the red is the lighter power, and the green is the light, wire it to the 'lights' section in the fuse box, the stock box had that, and I'm sure your after market one does too...if it does not, you could get the light's power from the heater controll panel light.
