Vintage Air Question ?

Does anyone have any pictures of the engine compartment where the new Vintage Air lines run through? I want to see how much space is there compared to the old.

Are you talking about through the firewall or through the core support?

Bram 08-20-2004 03:53 PM

The firewall, sorry I should have clarified that.

if you take a look at the firewall on the left, you'll see some aluminized insulation material sticking out. That's the hole the vintage air unit uses. The unit uses a plastic shield that mounts over both holes. The hoses go through a raised box where the hole in the insulation is that's about 5x5 and protrudes maybe three inches (these measurements are all memory). I don't have any pics of it before.

Thank you, thats what I thought. It really free's up alot of space.

Blue68 08-20-2004 04:22 PM

Yes, it does. I've had a plate welded over the hole on the right and the round hole where the squirrel cage was. I'm not a clean freak on the firewall, but those are some big holes where noise and heat can squeeze through.

Look on page 2 for a pic of my Vintage Air installed. It was really easy and cleared alot of room up in the engine bay. It really doesn't look any bigger inside the truck either.
Link to pic of V.A. Installed

Hope this helps!
