2inch front drop springs
I've got a set of 2" drop springs for the front of my c-10.
I have a small block in my truck. I am not sure if these are for the BB or the SB. What would happen if I put 2" BB drop springs on my SB truck? Todd |
If you use BB springs in a non-BB truck, I'd guess the truck would sit up a little higher

Everyone just sells generic 2 inch drop springs. ECE is the only place I've ever heard of that specifies which engine on drop springs.
Be prepared to be dissapointed Todd. Your stock springs are likely sagged a good bit by now, so the 2 inch drop probably won't be all you wanted it to be. You're possibly already sagged an inch or two. |
I do not think these are the original / correct springs on my truck. It sits pretty high with 27" tires. I think a po may have put lift springs in it because it used to also have bigger tires. (Why do people run "big" tires on a 2wd??? )

poor mans 4WD "LOOK" Todd don't you know that trick???

I know that it "looked" like my truck could drive over anything, but in reality it was a one wheel wonder.

You'd be surprised where an experienced off-road driver (farmer, rancher, etc) takes his 2WD. Many times, 4WD just means a bigger tractor/wrecker to pull you out... Besides, there are cheaper ways to fill up our big ol' wheelwells than 20" rims... :D SSOW :bowtie: |
Well... I'm not an off roader. I'm a city boy. My truck is going to be a green light screamer. Not much use for big wheels or a suspension lift when you're on concrete.
When I get home I will measure just how far it really is from the ground. I know that stock height on stock rims would put it at 32" in the front and 34" in the back. |
Not everyone sells a generic drop spring. We have a performance coil spring shop custom wrap our springs to the truck specs they are to be used in. We require amount of drop, long or short wheelbase, engine, transmission, and if equiped with a/c or not. The one down side is since they aren't generic shelf stock, they can take up to 14 days to ship depending on where the shop is in their heat treating process.
If they came from us big block drop springs will make a small block truck sit a little higher. Les @GMCPauls |
