Wheel Bearings
 

How hard is it to change the wheel bearings in the front of my 72 k10? I notice the driver side looked like it was leaning and when I jacked it up it was a tad bit loose, there is also a scraping noise coming from that side that goes away when you turn to the right. Is there any special tools I will need? Just wondering I've never done it before. Thanks :bowtie:

The only thing "special" you will need is a socket that is made specifically for the nuts that hold them in.
Other than that it is fairly straight-foreward like any other.

If it was loose enough for you to see a lean, you should pay special attention to the bearings themselves and to the brakes too.

check the upper ball joints, they will cause the wheel to lean inward also...rat

yeah just have to have that socket long hair mentions, looks like this in pic below. also seal puller is nice as has to replace inner seal to get inner bearing out. id also replace the races at same time. you can flip the old race over and use it to tap in new race bout half way then use a brass drift punch to knock it in rest of the way working side to side careful not to scar new race. i just did all mine and took like an hour and a half i'd estimate.
