need pto info

I got a PTO from my neighbor w/ the following info: Model RNK 7-14 drive gear p/n 5P273. The PTO is a chelsea when it was made under spicer. Also, it is a 6 bolt w/ forward/reverse/neutral shifter.

If it turns out this pto will fit a SM 420 I would be interested in buying it.

Can't say that I have much info on those. I had one for one of my K20s, but you had to cut the bed to use it. I sold it to a guy that had a flatbed later model truck. I bet you could pull a house down with one of those.

Dean you don't happen to remember how many teeth were on the driven gear do you? The free one has 25.

Another question, can the pto be mounted upside down? i.e. on my SM465 the drive gear for the pto should have 25 teeth, which mine does. But to use it on the left side it has to be upside down i.e. the label plate is upside down. In relation to the tranny fill plug, the whole pto is still in gear oil.

I pulled this pto from a 70 Chev 1 ton and the braden winch also. I'd sell both for $300.

Looks to me like the tag read RNG 7 -14 on this one..made by Spicer under Dana in Chelsea. Funny eh.

put me first in line. I sent you a pm. Have to make sure it came off of an sm465 on the left side not off of an np435 on the right side. I'll post some pics in the morning of the pto I have. Thanks!
