How do I remove the trailing arm bushings

How do I remove the bushings on the rear trailing arms? Do they have to be pressed out?

I used a torch and melted the rubber out, and then pressed the metal sleeve out.

Same here. Let the fire burn long enough and the bushing will fall out.

I use a big air hammer on them.

You'll still need stong persuasion to get the remaining outer shell out, whether from a hammer, air hammer, or press (if you're the sophisticated type :p )

I used a C-type ball joint press to get them out and the new ones back in.
