How do I remove ignition switch?

I lost the key to my '73:crazy: and locksmith wants $150 to come out and re-key it, or if I brought the ignition to him it would only be $25

well you pop off the wheel get that tool to compress the piece under it and out the ring clip under it pop that out then there should be a screw or some clips that hold it in under the turn signal switch its pretty easy. for $25 why not just buy another ignition switch new and have TWO ORIGINAL KEYS

For about $25 chevy duty will sell you a new cylinder and new door locks, all keyed alike.

Used to do locksmith work on the side.

Always amazed me at what they charged, even just to come out.

If you want to change out the cylinder here's the info. Also a god time to tighten up the bolts that the guy ends up doing in this article. http://home.t-online.de/home/O_Scholz/steering.html
