throttle linkage...
 

My stock throttle linkage isn't working for my new carb. Weighing some options, either a new cable set up, (pricey, I like the jegs/lokar setup) or I think the edlebrock part# 350-8012 looks like it'll work. Its an ext/adapter. Just gathering some info and opinions....

put one in from a later cablr truck. $5 at a junk yard

will i have to change me peddle set up? Take the whole thing from the junkyard? Will I have to make any new holes? It seems like it....

what kinda of carb are you running the stock throttle rod can be modified to fit. the pic is crappy but u can get the idea on how it needs to be bent to fit. thats a 750 edelbrock carb in the pic but im using a 750 holley now and didnt have to change it

The cable setup is going to get real involved because your truck has the rod type of pedal.

It's real easy to modify the factory rod to fit a different carburetor. If you do, you can use lengths of 1/4 steel rod available at any hardware store. If you can't weld, measure and cut everything and take it to a muffler shop and have them weld it for you.

What kind of carb, was the truck originally an inline, small block or big block...what's in there now? How does it not fit.

It had the stock carb on it. SB350 V8. I put on a holley 670. I have very limited play in my peddle.

After I look at that pic, I realized my throttle rod is reversed with the 90 degree bend at the carb.

Sounds like you may need to shorten it to get some pedal travel back. There should be some adjustment in tht stock rod. If not enough, you can shorten the rod slightly with a hacksaw and MIG welder.
