Progress Pics...Finally

3 Attachment(s)
Here are a few pics of my truck. Bodyman just completed the cab, he still has to paint the top of the doors white. It will eventually get full trim with the white center. I had the front inner fenders and radiator support powder coated....looks much better then in the pics. Time to take it back to the bodyshop so he can continue.

Piece by piece, bit by bit.... Fantastic attention to detail in the bay. I like it. Looking forward to more pics.

krue 11-23-2004 10:53 PM

Very good looking cab, I agree about the engine bay also.

Gee_Emm 11-23-2004 11:03 PM

Nice color, is it factory ochre or a something else?

DevinM 11-24-2004 12:08 AM

Beautifull truck!!! Can you give us some pics and details on the headers that you are using. Are they the Chevelle shorties? Who makes them?

BAD4X4 11-24-2004 12:34 AM

I love that color, nice look-n- truck. It just takes time, and lots of it. Keep up the good work.

Gee Emm....yes factory Ochre color. Truck was originally the "hugger orange color" but I always loved the ochre and white paint scheme.

DevinM....the headers are Chevelle 3/4 length made by Dynamax. I bought them from Summit and am happy with the fit. I have attached a better pic of them....ignore the dirty tranny!!!

Yukon Jack 11-24-2004 10:30 AM

Sure is fun to watch projects progress. Looking great!

Palf70Step 11-24-2004 10:31 AM

Looks good! :metal:

Good looking cab and those headers look SWEET! I have a couple of questions for you. You said that you powder coated the fender wells and rad support, did you powdercoat the frame as well? My next question is .... what does everyone use for undercoating? I need to figure something out quickly because my cab is set for primer today and should be in the booth by next week and i had originally planned to have my friend at line X hit my cab and fener wells with spray on poly but he no longer works there and they want $300 to do what i want done which seems high. Has anyone had any exp w spray on undercoatings and what type and where do you get them?

svgould 11-24-2004 03:42 PM

Answer for GreyHoundSteve

GreyHoundSteve...no the frame is not powder coated. It was done with POR-15. If you look closely, you can see where it sat out in the sun for too long (POR-15 re-acts to sunlight). It turned to a dull powder like finish, but the top layer wipes off easily and still looks good even after the sun damage?

luckydog 11-24-2004 03:56 PM

Can you spray single stage paint over POR15?

ChevyDude 11-29-2004 09:35 AM

Those Headers look really slick!!! Looks like a great option for anyone with a lowered truck. Do you have the Summit Part number? Nice truck too...keep the pics coming, you know how we all love to see the pics!!!

Thanks

Wow!. Looks good so far.

ChevyDude 12-01-2004 10:27 AM

Are these the headers in your picture? I could not find a Summit part number that said Dynomax Chevelle 3/4 length header...just one that said Dynomax shorty Ceramic, Part number: WLK-86118. Just wondered if you could verify this part number.

70 shorty 12-01-2004 01:41 PM

Very nicely done. I agree that the attention to detail looks good.

griesel72 12-01-2004 02:40 PM

Very nice, i love the color.

svgould 12-01-2004 05:32 PM

Headers

Chevydude is correct....the summit part number is WLK-86118.

chickenwing 12-01-2004 06:02 PM

Good lookin header. Like how you can do a starter change with minimal effort. Looks like the #6 and #5 plugs are a bit tight but what header doesnt mess with some plugs?
I'm saving that part # thank-you. How thick is the flange please?

svgould 12-01-2004 06:18 PM

chickenwing.....I'm about 1000 miles away from the truck right now, so can't answer your question on flange thickness....sorry!!
