Is this the correct exhaust manifold?
Hey guys, I'm new to the 67-72 trucks and don't know squat about them, but now I need to learn. Is this pic of a factory passenger side exhaust manifold or has it been swapped out? It looks different than the driver side manifold.

Looks like it's been swapped out. Both sides should match, and they dump in the center, not at the end. They resemble a ram's horns, hence the name, "ram's horn exhaust manifold."
Should look like this: http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/54pontiac/2exh1.jpg |
Ok, thanks. I was looking at a pre-bent exhaust system in a catalog and something just didn't look right. Thanks for the quick reply.

The pic of the manifold above is for cars typically....truck manifolds for 2wd trucks are ram horns with a turned back end. I'll post a pic of typical 72 2wd type. Striaght down ram horns are used a 4x4's.
The car type above is used on motors that have alternator brackets attached to the exhaust manifold....some 67 trucks used that type manifold..but still in a truck thats 2wd is should angle back. 72 style truck 2wd pictured here. |
that exhaust manifold on the passenger is off a late 80s v8, if you cared

Whoops, my bad, Rod is right, that's a car manifold I posted. He posted the correct truck ones. Was the only "rams horn manifold" that came up on Google Image Search, and my brain let that one slip by. :D

This is what the drivers side manifold looks like, pointing straight down. The motor looks like a mis-match of parts, but has the older style accesories on the front. Damn PO... :banghead:  |
