trailing arms????????

anyone ever welded thier trailing arms back together. I have one that is seperating..it only looks like they are spot welded together...

has anyone ever drilled out the spot welds and re welded them and then put a couple of stiches in the seams?

the arms aren't pitted or anything and the dr's side is nice..it's just the pass side is seperating for some reason (well water gets in them..i know that, but i don't know why it is just one side)

I think ECE has a weld on plate that goes over the top of it.

Mine were not coming apart but I did run 4 stitches on each side of the contorl arm about 1.5 inches each to reinforce them some. It won't hurt, just make sure the ubolts line up in the holes and the front holes line up before you reweld them.

thanks guys. i think i'm going to drill out the remaining spot weld them bolt the two sides together then stich the top and bottom then go back and take the bolts out and weld up the holes.

i figured that it would be ok...the factory did it without stiching the tops and they put bigblocks against them.
