Whats needed for a TBI to carb swap, has anyone done this, is it worth it??

Thanks, 7084Driver

This is just my personal opinion, but you would be going backwards if you swap to a carb. The tbi is a great setup especially for drivability.

If you want to lose gas mileage, dependability, and cold weather starting I say go for it!

We just cant seem to get it right. Its like maybe the computer is screwed up

TBI can be tricky, I've been through a few rounds myself.
Mine has been everything from water in the gas (no fun) to just replacing the computer (about $50). All the little sensors can get expensive, I'd try a code reader first.
What is it that's wrong?

Everything

It is my truck my partner in crime has been posting for me till i got on this board which is a great resource. When i bought the truck it smoked really bad heads so him and i pulled the motor and had it rebuilt then the trouble began wouldnt get into time for nothing then wouldnt stay running replaced all the sensors that the codes sad was wrong now it wont even start. So i am ready to scrap comp and just goto a carb. Is just a play truck.

Off the top of my head, I would say your going to need a carb (duh), intake manifold, a new distributor, and an adjustable fuel regulator. I'm sure I'm missing something but this is a good start....
