Homemade bed covers
Anyone made their own bed covers? I am thinking about doing one of my own and could use some ideas.

My dad made one out of ply-wood and covered it w/ vinyl..............It acttually looks pretty good......................If im not mistakened he made the supports out of alum................His trucks bed is SWB stepside.......sorry no pics

I did my last one - went to a local camper shop and got some 1" light weight aluminum square tubing and made a frame. Then attached 1/2" angle to the sides and made some sliding hinges for the front - I covered the top with a piece of fiberglass sheet like big freezers use, put some foam down then covered with black vynil.
Not to offend anyone but I wouldn't do the wood route - it may last for awhile but it will eventually warp and buckle - heavy too. |
does anyone know where you can get a big ebough piece of plexiglass to cover a short fleet?been thinking about mounting speakers there and thought it might look good......thanx:bowtie:

i work with a lot of plexiglass stuff where i work, making gaurds for machines, im not sure where we get it from, but we get 4 by 8 sheets. it would look awesome im sure, but be super hard to keep clean!. good luck, Ben
