Homemade bed covers
Anyone made their own bed covers? I am thinking about doing one of my own and could use some ideas.
Thanks,

I did my last one - went to a local camper shop and got some 1" light weight aluminum square tubing and made a frame. Then attached 1/2" angle to the sides and made some sliding hinges for the front - I covered the top with a piece of fiberglass sheet like big freezers use, put some foam down then covered with black vynil.
Not to offend anyone but I wouldn't do the wood route - it may last for awhile but it will eventually warp and buckle - heavy too.

a nice 1 or 2 inch wide peice of polished aluminum could go down the center of your bed, that would look nice holding the pieces together, as long as you polish it up good, and do something about the bolts. good luck, and post pics if you do it!, Ben
