Do I need a neutral safety switch?
 

I am just finishing installing my Van tilt. I went to hook up the netural safety switch and there are no wires to hook up to it :rolleyes: I did relocate the switch also. I switched my truck from a 3 on the tree so I guess standard truck don't have a safety switch ? I have the plug for the reverse lights but nothing for the ignition. Would the switch be in the purple wire ? Is it possible to wire it into my harness ? I really don't want to pull it I just finished getting everything hooked up.

Any help would be great.

If you have an auto you will want the neutral safety switch. You may need to get a harness from an auto truck - but I am sure someone can tell you how to wire it into your existing harness.

Just find large purple wire from switch and cut. One side of cut to n. s. switch-the other side of cut to other side of n.s. switch.

I BYPASSED THE N/S SWITCH IN MY BLAZER, SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO EVER DRIVES IT, & I LIKE BEING ABLE TO START IT IN ANY GEAR. IT'S VERY HANDY IF YOU'RE TRUCK EVER STALLS IN TRAFFIC, & INSTEAD OF STOPPING & PUTTING YOUR TRUCK IN PARK OR NUETRAL, YOU JUST HIT THE KEY. I bypassed mine too.
I know I ain't bumb enough to park it in drive, so that means it won't be in drive when I get in to start it.
Right?
