TV Cable TH350

Can I buy a TV Cable gasket and only the gasket at a local parts house? I found after I cleaned off the tranny, that is where it is leaking from. THanks in advance.

Please excuse the dumbness, What does TV stand for?????

phanatic32212 05-28-2005 03:36 PM

Nope, no one has one. They dont even have the assembly with a gasket for it. I just bought some gasket maker. Cheaper than buying from TCI. TV is the Throttle Valve on the transmission.

If for some reason the homemade one doesn't cut it. (no reason why it shouldn't) try a transmission shop such as Valley Transmission in El Cajon. They may have a spare laying around and I know that Richard out at the one on Washington street is great to work with! :one:

A 350 doesn't have a TV cable. It has a kickdown cable on the passenger side. The 700 has a TV cable on the driver's side. Maybe the parts stores do have it, but were looking for the wrong part.

53burb, I was about to say the same thing. Over drive trannys with a cable (700R4 and 200 4R) use a TV cable, the non overdrive trannys, excluding the TH400, use a kick down cable, or detent cable.

Even so, i would just use some good sealant like the right stuff.

Oops, some people do call me an idiot. I guess it was a kickdown cable instead. Either way, I think I got it sealed up pretty good. I guess we'll find out tomorrow when I put some fluid in it. Thanks for the heads up, though. I've been searching for a good tranny shop around here. Do they have decent prices?

I got my detent seal at the Chevy dealer. Part number is 1262475

70c10,

Does the seal that you got from the dealer look like a top hat? (Like a tube with a flange). I need one and have been having trouble finding it.

Jim
