Truck needs wax..what do you use???
 

Truck needs a good wax job. I'll be heading to the store to pick-up some wax and was wondering what everyone around here used.

I use mothers products.

meguiars, turtle wax

Been using meguires cleaner wax and carnuba wax. Cleaner wax works great but the carnuba wears off so damned fast. Thinking of switching to one of the silicone based products. Drawback of that is paint contamination if some future body/paint work must be done.

M-Ron by California Customs. Can be applied in direct sunlight. Goes on easy and comes off easy leaving no residue. Lasts good. No silicone.

Meguires is what I use. It goes on pretty easy and comes off even easier. I question how long it last but the cars I do are not really daily drivers so I probably wax them more than most people.

Has anyone ever used Zaino Bros? I here its the bomb. You have to buy it from a rep. All the Impala guys talk about it on there board.

3M hand glaze. Not really wax though....

I use DuraShine. No silicone. Goes on as easy as applying Armourall; excess is rinsed off with gentle stream; water sheets off, never beads up to dry in a ring; no wax powder to somehow get out of every crack and crevice. Harmless to all parts of the exterior: paint (duh!), plastic, glass, rubber. On clean, wax-free paint with no oxidation, Durashine shines with a wet luster, though not like an ad might show.

Protects extremely well against UV rays. Best I've ever found for UV protection. The matching Durawash soap has no silicone, either, and has a little Durashine in it so that regular washing touches up the protection. Works fantastic on frames and axles since it can simply be rinsed off. Who wants to buff a frame/axle?:crazy:

Drawback: Does not have the impact protection that a thick coat of wax can give, however little. Nice trade-off to get Durashine's UV protection and water sheeting qualities. I've found it in K-Mart (yes, that's a drawback:D).

Meguiars Cleaner/Wax and/or Nu Finish. A barn full of car show trophys using these 2 products.

I used Meguiars for years on my garaged cars. I started using it on my truck (it lives outside) and it wont bead water after about three weeks. I tried several waxes and believe it or not I found Nu Finish at Wal Mart works great I know its cheap and doesn't have big fancy marketing but it kicks Meguiars a$$ on my outside truck. I wax just about every other month anyway but this stuff lasts and longer finishes slicker than anything else I've used.

i have used stuff called klasse wax, imported from germany. I would only reccomend it for show as it is very $$$$, but very nice wax nonetheless

I like Meguiars gold class but plan to try the California Customs that Mudder mentioned.

when i worked at a detail shop at a dealership, and all our products were from a company called PRO. ive never seen their products in the stores, but i think you cna order products online here at their website. the finishing wax we used was theri PRO GOld i beleive. they have some really great products. i couldnt find it ont heir site but i highly recomend Pro-Shine for interiors. the BEST stuff we have ever used.

All I'll use now is either Zaino (which is a sealer) or Meguiars NXT. The NXT is incredible and easy to find now. Pretty much everywhere.

try zymol great stuff but expensive but holds up very well about $15 bucks a bottel at walmart
