The pickup lean
 

So, If I installed a rear antisway bar would it get rid of some of the lean from my gas tank??? I know I can rearch the springs . How about I move my hanger shackle kit down one hole on the drivers side????

If it leans that much from the gas tank being full, I'm pretty sure there something else wrong.

do you have any pics, that might help us help you find the problem

Well it's not that bad but I notice it. With a full tank it's down about and inch and the front pass side goes up 1/2. I figue I misght even get a little if I tilt the bumper a smidge. I'll get some pics and some measurements this week if I get my truck back. The tilt was there before the drop. I fugure with my lard but anf the gass tank was cousing the lean. For all I know it might not even be there with the vehicle in drive. I just see it every time I come up on the truck.

Try using the other gas tank?? Maybe balance your weight and the gas??

Hmmm, I though of that but, I only have one gas tank. I don't feel like cutting in another door on the pass side.

Two suggestions, neither of which I really like...

1) Install counter weights on the opposite side of the truck frame. Just bolt some steel plate or something.

2) Install some form of rear air-bag load leveling setup and just run more pressure in the bag on the gas tank side of the truck.

Personally, I'm thinking what C&C Chevy said at the beginning might be more on the mark... if it leans that much with a full tank of gas, something else is amiss.

Sorry, I assumed you had dual tanks. I thought all 87's had dual tanks. My bad.

A cracked leaf spring would account for a sag on one side. And can be hard to spot.

chubby chix will balance out that awful lean on that truck. Put one on the opposite side of the tank and you are good to go.

I'm sure I've seen this before with chevy trucks. I just don't understand why the moved to tank to the driverside in the first place???

I even though of the blazer tank route. I can use more capacity. Just a lot of work there.

I'll check for spring issues.

So a anti-swap bnar won't help?

I just checked my '86 and with a full tank of gas on left side only,(D-Side) it does not lean at all that I can see. I think it must be a spring issue. I never use my right side tank. Do not even know if it works. Too cheap to fill both tanks. $$$ :lol:

My '86 has no noticeable lean regardless of what tank is full or empty. I use both tanks. I vote for the "something is wrong with your suspension and you need to fix the problem rather than the symptom" option. :)

EDIT: Just for grins, have you checked the tire sizes? I once bought tires at Pep Boys and they put two of one size on the left and two of another size on the right. They were only off by one size, so the difference was not notieable, but it made it lean noticeably.

I also had a place put 3 of one size and a fourth of a different size on a car. That one leaned, too. Idiots....
