body drop
Has anyone done a body drop on these trucks before and I dont mean putting in smaller body mounts. I am looking to drop the body 3" because I want to cut the rocker off and lay door. I think I may just end up cutting the section out of the floor so the frame can come up into the cab. The frame will stick up about 2" in the front and 1" in the back. Plus I would have to cut a section for the trailing arm crossmember. what do you guys think?

I set the height of the body relative to the frame on my '61 where I wanted it. So you could call it a body drop, but I didn't use the original frame. I've seen a site where a guy did a standard body drop that involved floor and frame modification.
IMHO laying door looks like garbage, but it's your truck. Anything can be doneā¦ |

HEre are soem, updatedpics of that truck I ran into a while back. The entire body was reskinned by Grant Custem MEtal Fab. All Chassis work was done by IF Customs in Cali.
I have seen it in person and it is insane in bare metal. Jeff |
I've seen that thing in a mag recently. Just a small pic of a show they covered. That is some f'n amazing sculpting! It has part of a 67-68 hood! So does it "lay door"? On cars/trucks that lay door, how do you get in and out? Remote airbags? Lambo Doors? It's not my thing, but obviously has a following.

I did a 2.5" bodydrop! :) I think 3" is to much work for these style trucks. I found that 2.5" is the best way to go. There is info on my website how i bodydropped it.
