backseat legroom fix
Hi folks,
I am starting on my second blazer. I parted my first one out due to unrepairable rust. One thing that always bugged me a bit was the lack of legroom in the back. I am thinking of putting the next tub on a newer frame, with the drop in it for a proper back seat. Anyone ever try this? Martin |
I don't think they really changed the frame between '77 and '78 when they changed the tub and rear seat. All they did was moved two of the cab mounts from inside the frame rails to outside.

Sounds like a lot of work for a minimal problem. I've seen people move the seat back toward the tailgate so passengers can stretch out their legs a little more.

thanks for your thoughts. I know it would be a pain to do. But I might try it anyway. In addition to a better backseat, you would be able to slide the front seats further back.

i plan on doing the same thing to my 2wd blazer

I have thought about building the seat up on my Jimmy. That would give me more leg room for anyone back there, and I could raise that portion of the floor to allow for a bigger notch.
|
IMO the rear seat already sits up way too high.
|
I only let short people ride back there, tall folks walk. End of problem.

I have no problems sitting in the back but then agian I am only 5'-9''
