I do not drill holes for several reasons. First, It is an added expense. Second, all truck beds do not set the same. Even yours might set different if you took it apart and put it back together again. Third, many customers now want a "clean" bed without the bolts showing. They bolt the bed crossmembers down underneath the wood. This bed sets come unfinished but I will stain or seal them for an extra charge. $35 to seal only and $50 to stain and seal. I do not have any long sets at this time, but I am building up my inventory and hope to soon. They will be $260 for show-quality and $200 for driver-quality when available. Thanks for your interest.

what kind of wood do you use?

Re: New Oak Bed Wood Sets

I stock red oak bed wood sets because that is what my truck restoration vendors want. I have to buy my wood in large quantities so I can provide oak at a reasonable price. I will do bed wood sets in most common or exotic woods, but this is usually an added expense due to the cost of the wood. I can provide oak bed wood sets about as cheap as pine.

well guys, i gotta say, this is one sweet deal! when i did my bed floor, i spent a lot more than $225. Sure, i got my wood cheaper, but then i had to pay to have the grooves put in them, and the recessed/offset mounting holes, etc. The alternative, LMC or ChevyDuty, plan on putting out almost 2x!

a good deal and a great resource for our community!

Re: New Oak Bed Wood Sets

Driver-quality sets are put together using some boards that I feel have minor flaws such as consistency of color, unusual grain patterns, light or dark streaks, or small knots usually no bigger than 1/8-1/4". Some of the boards in these sets may not have any significant flaws. These sets will look great if stained or tinted to blend color. These sets are very limited and often unavailable because I am very picky about the quality of wood that I buy and alot of these flaws are cut off before the boards are run through the moulding machine. A show-quality set is put together using my finest quality boards and color-matched for consistency of color and grain patterns across the whole set. Please email me Robert.Noe@xrxgsn.com and I will send you some pics. Thanks!
