Steering Colum

When I put in my floor shifter what can I do about the colum were the old shifter was. Can I just get that cover off a truck with a manual and swap them right over?

Changing out the column collar can be a big pain, best to get a Manual column and do a straight swap. Auto columns are selling good on fleabay if they are in nice shape, or maybe you can find a member to swap you straight accross.

You can do body work on the manual collar as I did and you cannot tell the difference. Will send you a pic if needed. Of course if you have a floor shift collar--- a lot easier.

pic of a converted 3 on tree. Remove, cut or gring pot metal shifter protrusion. Clean, Use a lab metal or hardner to fill nost of the hole, finish off with good old bondo.

Removing the colar off a 4 speed truck is simple, as is installing it onto your column.
