Dashboard Instruments & Gauges help....

My 69 GMC has the dashboard instruments without optional gauges and tachometer.... you know, the one with 3 holes, speedometer, blinkers, and fuel gauge. I want to convert mine to the one with 7 holes (optional gauges and tach). I was wondering if it as easy as simply swapping? I cant imagine it being that easy considering the additional gauges need respective wiring or whatnot. If not that easy, what exactly should i do to make the swap a success if it even can be possible without going to tremendous lengths. Thanks for your help once again.

Its kind of hard to explain but put it as simply as i can, i have the stock setup with a speedometer, and fuel gauge. There is no RPM meter, temp gauge, battery/amp gauge, or oil pressure gauge. I am not next to my truck this moment or i would post pics.

You'd have to install a new in- cab wiring harness for gauges, plus a gauge dash panel. Kinda costly, unless that's what you want. Many on here have dash panels for sale or trade. I'd definitely get a new dash wiring harness for gauges, rather than try and swap a used one in. Just my $ .02 .

To do it properly, you'd have to replace the underhood harness..and maybe the underdash one too.
BUT... like chops said, www.gmcpauls.com
