Is this goof going to cause problems?

I finally got my vent glass installed in my frame...(not very tough with the right gasket) and screwed up the install. I was so giddy to have gotten the glass mounted in the frame that I continued "fast forward" to install the frame and rivet the sucker into the main frame.

Problem is that I forgot to install this "pivot stop"... I don't want to drill out the pop rivet, because I don't want to buy another kit. Will it hurt anything to not have the "pivot stop" installed?

I'm referring to the washer looking thing that's got one rounded side and one square side. I've highlighted it in yellow and put an arrow in where it should be installed.

I looked at the other side and it doesn't seem to do a whole lot... am I missing something?

Well the pivot stop function - as a stop - is not that important, but it along with the fiber washer helps set the height of the window and gives the tension spring something else pull on besides the pivot rivit. Those rivits can be bought seperately, just drill it out and do it right.

"If you don't have the time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over ? "

Where can I buy that special rivet? I'd rather not buy another rivet kit for the entire frame...

Chevy Duty - part # 03-831, $.99 for the pair.

Thanks. I'll drill it out and fix it first thing in the morning. Thanks for all of the legwork Green Machine!

I gotta a question also. Can you buy just the spring assemlby part? Mine is broke on the drivers side. the vent window just flops around when opened :whine:

You do need a special fixture. I wouldn't call it a tool really. Its more of a die. It rolls the rivet into a smooth rolled underside.
